Ceramics Studio for Teens Summer 2025
Teens! This is your chance to refresh your wheel and hand building skills! If you have previous ceramics experience and want to get your hands on clay again this Studio is for you.
Thank you to the Los Alamos Teen Center & YMCA for partnering with us to help keep the cost of this camp low!
These camps are made for students who have had some experience, either at home, school, or at a camp or class in the past. We consider these an “Open Studio” time with the an instructor available to help students orient in the space, get materials, and to guide and answer questions but no projects are presented during these times.
Your $5.00 is to clay costs. Open studios are not intended for finishing pieces, however if you would like to have a piece fired, firing tickets can be purchased in the gallery shop.

This program is also a good fit for students who want more practice or to pursue their own projects with instructor support. The instructor will demonstrate techniques and provide one-on-one feedback, problem solving, and guidance, but there is not a curriculum or theme.
Students in this class will not have new instructions, but can build on skills they bring with them or that they've learned in previous programs. Since our instructors are skilled in a variety of wheel techniques, they will be on hand to provide any feedback the student may require on various steps along the wheel throwing journey. Students may bring pieces they have not had a chance to finish in their beginner class to complete.
It is recommended to leave jewelry at home, or have a safe way to store during ceramics programs. Long hair should be tucked or tied back.
Skill Level: Previous ceramics experience required. Middle or high school ceramics classes and LAAC (or similar) summer camps all serve as previous experience.
Ages 13-18
This camp is brought to you in partnership with the Los Alamos Teen Center!
