The Pajarito Literary Festival (Itty Bitty Lit Fest) is a brand new adventure brought to you by the Los Alamos Arts Council and Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse.
In February of 2024, Brandi Engeman, Executive Director of the Los Alamos Arts Council, and Jill Lang, owner of Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse, joked about hosting a literary festival in Los Alamos. Fast forward to February 2025 and thanks to several private funders, as well as a grant from the New Mexico Creative Industries, the joke is now a reality!

About LitFest 2026
In 2025, we hosted a pilot to test our model for a three-day Literary Festival this year. 2025 attendees were the first people to ever enjoy the Pajarito Literary Festival in Los Alamos County and to help us plan for next year! We wish to express our continuing gratitude to the Creative Industries Division, whose grant helped in part to make the 2025 event possible. The schedule for 2026 year is packed full of events, some of which are identified as General Admission, VIP, or Open to the Public.

Author Workshops
The Pajarito Room is the main large room inside the central area of the Fuller Lodge. Join panelists here throughout the weekend. You will also find check in tables and pick up your passes here.
Locations
The Fuller Lodge sits in the heart of downtown Los Alamos. Here you’ll find several of our panels, book signings, and workshops.
Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse is located in Central Park Square. This business complex sits to the northeast of the Fuller Lodge, within walking distance. Book signings, VIP dinners, and tea talks will be held here throughout the weekend.
SALA Event Center will host a variety of panels in the Roxy Theater. This venue is a short walk, or shorter drive, from the Fuller Lodge campus. Parking is available.
Dont get lost along the way!
Bathtub Row Brewing Coop is also located in Central Park Square and boasts a robust beer list brewed on site. You’ll meet authors and attend brew house tours and beer tastings here. It’s also Oktub-r Fest will be noon-5:30PM in their famous “back forty”.
PEEC Nature Center is another short walk or drive from the Fuller Lodge Complex. You’ll leave for the Sunday Nature walk and follow up workshop on their campus.
