Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of our board of directors will be held on June 29th at the Fuller Lodge Art Center in the Yellow Studio. This studio is accessed using the central avenue exterior door at the top of the stairs. The Meeting will begin with reports from staff on the end of Fiscal Year 2025 and a brief plan outlining Fiscal Year 2026. The board will then enter into a closed session to discuss performance reviews for staff and board members. Please join us and hear about the wonderful upcoming arts and cultural programs we have in store.

Los Alamos Arts Council at Chamberfest 2025

We will be at the annual Los Alamos Chamberfest in Central Park Square Saturday June 7th. If you are curious about what we do, would like to become a member, sign up for programs and more, stop by! Our staff will also be hosting last year’s favorite activity: Paint Your Own Canvas! We have mini canvases for kids and pets, and adults can add to our community canvas. All supplies provided.

Daytime Performance Series: Yoshiko Arahata, D.M.A.

Join us for a performance by New Mexican pianist Yoshiko Arahata, D.M.A. !

Join us for an afternoon of rich and colorful solo piano music, featuring gems from the classical repertoire by composers such as Joseph Haydn and Alexander Scriabin, all the way to vibrant modern, jazz, and tango works by living composers Henry Martin, Pablo Ziegler, and more. Performed by pianist Yoshiko Arahata, a Yamaha Artist, the program also highlights her ongoing research on Latin American Piano Literature Beyond the Canon. 

Arahata is Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University, where she is developing a brand-new Collaborative Piano curriculum. A versatile soloist, collaborative and chamber musician, and composer, she was named a fellow of the prestigious Gilmore International Piano Festival. Her performances and compositions have been featured across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America—including appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Preston Bradley Hall, and on multiple radio broadcasts.

This performance will be free and open to the public in Fuller Lodge. We hope to see you there!

Art&Nature Exhibit Opening

The Los Alamos Arts Council presents an eco-friendly exhibit in honor of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC)’s 25th Anniversary, showcasing the inseparable bond between art and nature. Open to New Mexico-based artists, the exhibition welcomes works in any medium that explore nature and our place within it—ranging from eco-optimism and pessimism to landscape photography.
