Community Art Programs

What do you get with a monthly Community Art Program membership?

Think of it as a pass to stocked classrooms, tools, and a calendar of creative opportunities. One monthly fee gives you access to studio spaces during set hours and enrollment in planned classes. We are piloting now, with plans to expand into broader programming and family options. If you’re looking to take just a single specific class, you can still register for them a la carte.

FAQs

  • In the menus above, you will find sign ups for all of our arts education programs. First, open the section that best fits your needs. Pick a class. Under the class will be dates it is available (for classes with multiple dates). Some classes are only offered once or as part of a series. Select the class and add it to your cart. If you are choosing multiple classes, you can add all of these to the cart and then checkout once you are done.

  • Any memberships purchased prior to November 1st, 2025, will receive a membership code that they can use towards classes. For new members starting in November of 2025, we have special member pricing on specific classes and programs. If you did not receive your code, please contact info@laac-flac.org

  • LAAC annual memberships are your pass to programming for special LAAC members only throughout the year. There are some discounts and coupons included in your annual membership packet. Community Art Programs are monthly passes to education programs on our campus and at other sites around town. If a program has “CAP” or “Community Arts Program” it is included in your monthly pass. These passes are available for individuals and with discounts for each additional household member. These are good for everyone living at the same address. This means that roomates, siblings, folks who share a single physical address can all use the same membership as long as the minimum payment has been made.

  • Each month we have a series of CAP, or Community Arts Program classes. These are included in your pass but you still have to sign up using the coupon code you receive in your welcome email. In addition to planned and supervised activities, you also get independent studio time between 7AM-10PM on weekdays and 7AM-11PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

  • CAP members under 18 are not allowed to be unsupervised on our campus. There are age specific programs for youth K-12 so check out those and see which ones might be for them. Families can come to the studios and work together during any indepedent studio hours.

We are always trying to find more opportuntities for drop off for kids, but during the winter we minimize staffing in our classrooms, so check back in spring!

  • You can either sign your student up ala carte for the art programs we have, or if they will come more frequently to programs, pay for a CAP membership for your stuent. They can come during any supervised, age appropriate activity. The base fee for CAP membership passes is listed in the menu above.

  • Most of our classes have minimums in order to “make”. This means you will get a generic email when you first sign up and once we’ve reached that minimum, we will follow up with another email letting you know the class has made. We need every class to have a minimum number of sign ups to pay the teacher, for supplies, and labor associated with operating our class programs. If you are a CAP member, sign up for classes you want to take or they may get cancelled! If we are forced to cancel a class, we will refund the full amount of the class if you paid for it ala carte.

  • Our refund policy can be found on our education pages. Please read it carefully as terms can vary depending on the class.

  • That’s a great question!

Drop-off usually refers to youth programming that is supervised by a studio coordinator, teacher, volunteer, or other LAAC Designated staff. You don’t have to stay with your student for these programs.

Drop-In usually refers to any program that does not need a minimum to make or for studio time that is not supervised by our staff or volunteers. This is indepedent time for adults and youth alike, but all students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. They may not be left unattended during these sessions.

Open Studios/Supervised Studios are programs that may or may not have a studio coordinator present and may or may not have staff on site to open and close the facility for folks. Each of these will outline if they are drop-off or drop-in in their description.

Ala Carte: When you buy a class as a standalone class and not part of a monthly pass

CAP or Community Art Programs are designed to engage folks together to build a cooperative arts education community and to allow families and youth to engage together or in separate programs.

Teacher office hours: these area drop-in program hosted by a teacher to deep dive into skills with them. They vary and are priced according to the teacher’s rates.

  • Ceramics are included in CAP memberships for those who have completed a class or program with us and been signed off by a teacher OR have interviewed with our teaching staff to ensure they have the knowledge to work safely in the ceramics arts classroom. Right now, ceramics classes are not included in CAP because of their high materials costs, BUT you do get studio hours when you take a ceramics arts class and you can play around during our independent studio time during the month you take a ceramics class. You will also get a pass to any CAP program of your choice during the month of your class.

  • Each class will list any fees that are not included in the cost of the program.

  • Yes! The Fuller Lodge Art Center Clay club is a separate and standalone entity that offers higher end materials and spends signficant volunteer time on campus. We therefore have a 60% discount on the monthly fees for the CAP membership. While we do require everyone to be a CAP member to cover our costs, these signficant reductions in cost are in recognition of the dedicated volunteers who keep the space vibrant. We encourage everyone with a committment to the ceramic arts to be members of the FLACCC, but keep in mind it is not a requirment for using ceramics space as part of your CAP membership once you are cleared by a teacher to do so.
CAP fees for FLACCC members are $40 a month. If a FLACCC member cannot afford both FLACCC dues and LAAC fees, but is already a FLACCC lifetime member, they can utilize LAAC’s programs, at that $40 and still have access to clay! We do remind everyone not to use the FLACCC’s fancy supplies without being an active member of their club.
