Los Alamos Arts Council presents Missoula Children’s Theatre and their original adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
For over 40 years, the Los Alamos Arts Council has brought the Missoula Children’s Theatre to students and families from across our region!
Auditions: FREE!
Camp rehearsals: $65.00 (scholarships available)
Additional Workshops: $15.00 each
Auditions are free! We do not require you to sign up, but signing up helps us plan ahead for audition day! Not every student who auditions will get a part, however, the Missoula Children’s Theatre Residents do their best to find a role for all students. The Los Alamos Arts Council does NOT select students for roles; this is all done by the Missoula Children’s Theatre Staff.
If your student is not selected for a role, our Education staff can help you find a spot in one of our weekly camps at the Fuller Lodge Art Center.
If your child is selected to participate as a cast or crew member, they will have rehearsals throughout the week. Not every performer is needed for every rehearsal, and we do have back up camps and activities for those days when your child is not at rehearsals. You will work with our Education staff after rehearsals to plan your week.
Each family will receive a free ticket to the show. All other tickets are for sale starting on July 5th, 2025. If you cannot afford a ticket, please reach out to classes@laac-flac.org so we can help.
Acting/Theatre Workshops
There are several workshops this year, which are not limited to cast and crew! Any student can sign up for these camps, but sign ups close on Monday July 14th! Even if your student is not cast in the show, this is a great chance for them to participate workshops with the residents.
Workshop One: Acting
Tuesday, July 15th from 2:15-3:15 PM . For thespians who will be in grades 3-8 in the 2025-26 school year.
“All the world’s a stage,” and all your students, merely players! This workshop explores the basic tools of an actor’s trade - observation, memorization, concentration, and imagination - in an entertaining way. The students participate in fun exercises, learning to apply the actor’s tools to performing and their everyday lives.
Workshop Two: Improv
Wednesday, July 16th 2:15-3:15 PM. For thespians who will be in grades 3-8 in the 2025-26 school year.
Listening, creativity, bravery – all important skills for the Improv Actor to hone. This workshop emphasizes teamwork and “all-in” participation as the students learn to act without a script. Students of any experience level will be successful in this workshop.
Workshop Three: Playwriting
Thursday, July 17th 2:15-3:15 PM. For thespians who will be in grades 3-8 in the 2025-26 school year.
Playwriting – the art that transforms words into worlds. This workshop introduces story-telling concepts that will keep the audience on the edge of their seat! Students will learn the basics of creative thinking, plot structure, and character development in this dynamic storytelling workshop.
Sponsorship Opportunity
Why sponsor this program? Every year 60-100 students go from audition to performance in one week! The residency is a $5,000 fee each year, not including resident housing, staffing during rehearsals, and administrative costs like marketing and printing programs. Your contribution also gets the word out to the community that you believe in supporting the arts in Los Alamos and support the youth in our community who are excited to engage in theater programming. With your name attached to the Missoula Children’s Theater, you are connecting the community with cultural programming that has a lasting impact and legacy recognition by those who have been a part of this beloved program for over 40 years. Our hope is to expand next year to include an intergenerational component, include our local theater programs for camps and workshops leading up to audition day, and keep students excited about theater arts!
Check out our sponsor pages or reach out to director@losalamosartscouncil.org to arrange to chat about a customized package for your business.
