Poetry Writing: A Practical Guide and Workshop
This poetry writing workshop is designed for beginners or experienced writers looking to hone their skills or pick up something new.
During this workshop the genre of poetry will be defined and explored. The definition will lend itself to a method and process of writing. Students will use question-driven prompts to help them create word books, from which rough drafts will be composed; polished and revised drafts will be completed through the workshop process.
A second round of this workshop will be offered to allow new students to join, or for recurring students to further expand their knowledge. Students can sign up for one or both workshops in advance.
Days: Tuesdays 6PM-8PM
Ages: 15+ (All students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult unless approved by the Los Alamos Arts Council classes staff.)

7th, 14th, 28th, and November 4th 2025
Session 2: November
November 11th, 18th, December 2nd, and December 9th
About the teacher: Benjamin Green is the author of eleven books including The Sound of Fish Dreaming (Bellowing Ark Press, 1996) and the upcoming Old Man Looking through a Window at Night (Main Street Rag) and His Only Merit (Finishing Line Press). He resides in Jemez Springs, New Mexico.
