The Art of Self Stewardship with Kristine

This workshop is designed for women who are experiencing or are recovering from chronic stress and burnout to develop a practice of mindful, creative self-stewardship. Participants will create handmade journals for practicing simple art techniques and noting insights during the 4 week class, and will leave the workshop with their own mindful making kit.

Based on the work of Cynda Rushton, PhD and Roshi Joan Halifax, PhD, this series will include recognizing when our best intentions become harmful edge states, learning practices to regain and maintain energy, balance, and creativity, and connecting through sharing circles. No art experience required as we will be experimenting with simple pen line drawing and watercolor painting.

All materials will be provided. This workshop series will take place at the Fuller Lodge Art Center (2132 Central Avenue). Please note that this workshop is also in service of our instructor's degree program and some observations may appear in her final research paper.

To inquire about a scholarship for this series, please reach out to Classes@LAAC-FLAC.org

Please note this is a four week workshop meeting weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 PM. Purchasing a seat in this workshop entitles the participant to all four weeks. Sessions are not sold individually.
