These winners of the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022 sealed their award playing Billy Childs' String Quartet No. 2, "Awakenings." The Isidore will play for us a new Childs quartet written expressly for them, premiering this year. A great closer for their 79th season!

There is a pre-concert lecture by Brent Stevens at 2pm courtesy of the Los Alamos Arts Council. Brent Stevens is the former Executive Director of 95.5 KHFM, New Mexico’s listener-supported classical music station. He has been an on-air host at KHFM since 2003 and can currently be heard Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons. His interviews with locally and nationally renowned performers air regularly on KHFM, and he hosts preconcert talks and events with the state’s performing arts organizations. Brent is also a sound designer and recording engineer/producer. He produces broadcasts of Opera Southwest and broadcasts of The Santa Fe Opera, heard on KHFM weekly in July and August.
